Stanford Triathlon Endowment Drive

Dear Friends of Stanford Triathlon,

We are pleased to announce the kickoff of an endowment drive for the Stanford Triathlon Team. As the sport of triathlon expands, especially at the collegiate level, we feel this is the time to plan for a bright future. Signs of the explosion of collegiate triathlon in the last year include:

  • The Stanford Triathlon Team became the largest Club Sport at Stanford, with over 150 dues paying members.
  • The 3rd annual Stanford Treeathlon doubled in size.
  • The Collegiate National Championships doubled in size.

As the sport grows, so do our goals. Hiring a full-time coach, hosting a premier race, and winning National Championships are high ambitions, but we believe they can be achieved with your help. An endowment will help to ensure the longevity of our program. The $100,000 drive will add stability to the team by supplying a continual source of operating funds. The triathlon team was founded only seven years ago by students with passion for triathlon and a vision for the future. We look to build upon their legacy. With your support, the Stanford Triathlon Team will carry on Stanford's long history of excellence.

If you have questions or comments about our endowment drive, please don't hesitate to write the endowment committee.

We thank you for your support,
Endowment Drive Committee

I've learned so much and especially taken my swimming to new levels. I'll miss the Stanford tri team!" -- Ashley Fouts, Ph.D. '07
The momentum generated from triathlon's first appearance in the Olympics in 2000 sparked tremendous growth in USA Triathlon membership and collegiate team membership alike. Our 2006-07 year was fantastic and allowed the Stanford Triathlon Team to truly become an integral part of this exciting, new sport. We are incredibly jazzed to continue building our program to attract aspiring athletes and to strengthen our existing team. We'd love for you to join us!
